Privacy Policy
Seated Courtside (“we,” “us”) runs a ticket alert service at seatedcourtside.com. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights over it. We try to keep this policy short and readable in plain English.
1. What we collect
When you create an account:
- Email address — required. Used for login and alerts.
- Phone number — optional. Reserved for SMS alerts (coming soon).
- A unique Clerk user ID, stored in our database so your watches are tied to you.
When you subscribe to Premium:
- Payment method — processed and stored by Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- Stripe Customer ID and Subscription ID — so we can look up your subscription state.
As you use the service:
- Watches you create — team, event, max price, seat zone, alert channels.
- Alert delivery history — which listings fired which alerts.
- Page views and interactions — collected by Google Analytics 4 (anonymized IP, device type, referrer).
2. How we use it
- To run the service — poll marketplaces, match listings against your watches, send alerts.
- To bill you — only if you're on Premium, via Stripe.
- To improve the service — aggregate analytics to understand which features matter.
- To contact you about your account — service-critical transactional emails.
We do not sell your data to advertisers. We don't use your data for targeted ads.
3. Third parties we share data with
To run the service, we use the following providers. Each has their own privacy policy:
- Clerk — identity and authentication. Stores your login credentials.
- Stripe — subscription billing. Processes and stores your payment method.
- Neon — managed Postgres database. Stores your watches and alert history.
- Resend — email delivery. Receives your email address when we send an alert.
- Vercel — hosting provider. Logs may contain anonymized request data.
- ticketsdata.com — ticket inventory source. Does not receive any user-identifying data.
- Google Analytics 4 — usage analytics. Configured with IP anonymization.
We share only the minimum data each provider needs. We do not share your data with anyone outside this list.
4. Cookies and tracking
We use cookies for three purposes:
- Authentication — Clerk uses cookies to keep you signed in.
- Subscription state — session cookies from Stripe Checkout / Portal.
- Analytics — Google Analytics sets cookies to measure pageviews and basic usage patterns.
If you're in a region with opt-in consent requirements (EU/UK under GDPR), contact us at hey@seatedcourtside.com and we'll disable analytics for your account.
5. Data retention
We keep your account data as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we remove your watches, alerts, and profile data from our primary database. Records required for tax and payment-dispute reasons (invoices, Stripe records) are retained for up to seven years.
6. Your rights
You can:
- Access your data — email us and we'll send you an export.
- Correct your profile — Manage Account → Profile inside the app.
- Delete your account — Manage Account → Delete Account. Cascades to your watches, alerts, and subscription.
- Export your watches and alert history — email us.
- Object to processing — email us.
If you're a California resident (CCPA) or in the EU/UK (GDPR), you have additional rights including the right to a copy of our processing records and the right to lodge a complaint with your data protection authority. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.
7. Security
All traffic is served over HTTPS. Data at rest in Neon is encrypted. Payment data never touches our servers — Stripe handles it directly. We don't claim to be hack-proof, but we limit the data we hold and use reputable providers for the sensitive parts.
8. Children's privacy
Courtside is for adults (18+). We don't knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, email us and we'll delete it promptly.
9. International users
Courtside is operated from the United States, and data is stored on US-based servers (Neon). By using the service from outside the US, you consent to your data being processed in the US under these terms.
10. Changes to this policy
We'll update this Privacy Policy as the service evolves. Material changes will be announced by email to active subscribers at least 14 days before they take effect.
